We’re on a mission to “connect the unconnected.” We’ve blazed the trail with our battery-free, wireless sensors to sense temperature and moisture across a host of applications ranging from automotive to industrial, to medical. We continue to expand our portfolio to include sensors for gas, humidity, and strain, to name just a few, and we’ll have sensors with data-logging capability soon.
Our sensors are built using Smart Passive Sensing™ technology. That means they don’t need batteries or wiring for power. They are battery-free, maintenance-free devices designed for set-n-forget operation. Most of our sensors are so small they’re manufactured in a label format. Just peel-n-stick™ them on whatever you need to monitor.
All of our sensors do need an RF reader to trigger their operation and collect data. So please check out our system-level solutions and our evaluation solutions. The RF reader delivers the power to the sensors. Even without a local power source, our sensors can be read as far away as 19 meters (some of the very small rugged sensors are only readable up to 5 meters away).
Our sensors don’t need to collect and store energy on-board before communicating. The normal communication cycle takes as little as 3 msec, but some of the longer operations can take as long as 20 msec. Whatever your application, we have a sensor that is fast enough and that has the read range you need.
The sensor products include a range of devices that measure temperature, moisture, and other physical parameters. The sensors can also be grouped into rugged/on-metal and flexible (normal sensors). The on-metal sensors are most often employed in industrial applications involving motors, pumps, and electrical equipment.
RFM3200 Wireless Flexible Temperature Sensor
The RFM3200 is a wireless battery-free temperature sensor. This flexible sensor is designed to monitor environmental and material temperatures in a wide range of settings. Typical applications include environmental temperature monitoring, bulk material temperature monitoring, data center chiller and cooling monitoring, as well as cold chain monitoring at key shipment centers.
RFM3240 Long-Range Rugged Wireless Temperature Sensor
The RFM3240 is a wireless battery-free temperature sensor. This rugged sensor monitors electric distribution and switching equipment temperatures. Applications include utility-grade electric power distribution, factory and industrial electric service switchgear and other applications where metal surfaces are common
RFM3250 Rugged Wireless Temperature Sensor
The RFM3250 is a wireless battery-free temperature sensor. This rugged sensor is designed to monitor mechanical plant and equipment temperatures in the harsh and extreme environments common in industrial settings. Typical applications include electric motor protection, bearing temperature monitoring, heating and cooling equipment (HVAC) efficiency monitoring, switchgear and other applications where metal surfaces are common.
RFM3254 Rugged Wireless Temperature Sensor
The RFM3254 is a wireless battery-free temperature sensor. This rugged sensor is designed to electric distribution switchgear equipment temperatures in the harsh and extreme environments. Typical applications include switchgear contact assemblies, cable heads, busbars, Power distribution Units (PDUs), Ring main Units (RMUs) and other applications where metal surfaces are common.
RFM2110 Quality Control Moisture Intrusion Sensor
The RFM2110 wireless sensor detects water intrusion in automotive, aircraft, and other semi-enclosed spaces. Modern vehicle assembly is complex and subject to water leaks which require complex repairs. The RFM2110 moisture sensor has been specifically designed for use on metallic surfaces. The flexible design can be attached to complex surfaces using the integrated adhesive strip.
RFM2121 Moisture Detection Sensor for Healthcare
The RFM2121 battery-free moisture detection sensor is applied to the outside of garments and can detect the presence of liquid. The typical use is in healthcare settings. Healthcare workers can determine if patients need attention. This sensor can be read wirelessly through bedding and bedclothes.
